713D Analytic Tools for Evidence-Based Decision-Making Self Reflection

Analytic Tools for Evidence-Based Decision Making was an excellent course to propel me toward my goal of project implementation on May 1st, 2021. Before taking this course, I developed a skeleton of the project "Improving Parental Readiness for Discharge from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit." Course 713D allowed me to look at the problem statement more in-depth, develop a program theory, implement the theory, and look at evaluation techniques and theories for data analysis. The course aligns most closely with DNP Essential III (AACN, 2006). Clinical Scholarship and Analytical Methods for Evidence-Based Practice recognizes that scholarship gives meaning and reflects the synthesis of problem-solving by application (AACN, 2006). Analytic methods for critical appraisal of the literature review determined methods for implementing best practice interventions. 713D guides the learner toward designing a program theory and understanding the best strategies for implementation and evaluation within a practice setting. The course has accomplished this through several deliverables over the semester. Worksheets that were utilized included: Problem Definition, Problem Analysis, Intervention, Implementation, and Evaluation. These worksheets guided the development of the project's program theory. See Artifacts for examples of work completed in this course.
