Meredith Farmer recently completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree with a concentration in Health Systems Leadership at Emory University in December 2021. The focus of her DNP project was to improve parental readiness for discharge from the neonatal intensive care unit, which included the implementation of a discharge readiness program in a Level III NICU. Previously she attended Jacksonville State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2007. She received her Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Neonatal Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2010. She is currently practicing with Marietta Neonatology, as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner and she previously was clinical faculty with the Emory University-Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing. Her passion lies in caring for the smallest patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Her professional interests include how social determinants of health and health/racial disparities affect infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and follow-up after discharge.
